that's way how that all begun..... it take more than 100 hours work of my free time...
But i finally find out way to improve that fine radio... that's how MVT-9000M was born... then immediately i notice that SQ led useful and add that into all units.
That was M2.0 and M3.0 called as M2 and M3... 

I start to improve that mod (make that intermod smaller) and then couple month after that first mod i made improvements to that mod and that was first "official" mod what was sold from our company. 

Soon i find again way to improve that mod.
That's our first big hit in sales....
Rich Wells have that M3.2 version in his review.

After that mod improved more.
So born Mx.3 series... it was sold only 2 month!.
I notice in that version problems in low temperatures (less than -15 Celsius), bandscope can refuse to work in low temperatures.. that's why i design (again) new version of mod!...
Its called Mx.4 and its latest and greatest!!.
now its really difficult to improve that mod anymore. and that original 10.8MHz intermod is reduced more than 80% from nominal value!.

And with MK2 model that Mx.4 mod make that 10.8MHz inference almost gone!...
I can find  it only with my signal generator using levels more than 30dbµV and it really come noticeable in levels more than 40dbµV...

With latest mod version Mx.5 intermod problem is allmoust gone, its appear only when infereing signal level exeed over 80dbµV.

My choice as BEST HANDHELD Scanner over all is, 
MVT-9000MK2 with Mx.5 modification!.

Version 2.3 (2/99) in not available anymore!
That 10.8 Mhz inter modulation is reduced 60-95%. Scanning and search speed is over 42% higher
RX - led give you visible status of Squelch and battery save mode!. It light when Squelch is open and flash when battery save is on!!.
If you are listening something very strong signal,
you can hear it -/+ 10.8MHz too, and that image is rejected 60-95%
Also number of birdies is decrease!!

10.8MHz intermod is 70-95% smaller than original unit!
Number of birdies is smaller again!!! :)
Speed is same as 2.3 version and other features too, just only inference is smaller than version 2.3
 

Practicly that 10.8MHz problem is dissappear. it will occour if signal level exceed +80dbuV signal level.

MVT-9000M3 is basically same as M2 model but there is enabled that PRESET function.
But that function enable/disable is user defined!

Its discriminator output tap... it gives you possibilities to decode many digital transmissions, like pager's, weather satellite.... and many more.... 
Only negative thing is high output impedance, about 1000 ohm.... 
But problems caused bu that can be avoid using external amplifier Normally unit is delivered without amplifier!.
